WORLD GOLF FOUNDATION (WGF) AND ATHLETES WORLD FOUNDATION (AWF) SIGN STRATEGIC ALLIANCE
St. Augustine, Florida 16 September
2013 - World Golf Foundation (WGF) and Athletes World
Foundation (AWF) have established a strategic alliance to promote
the importance of the AWF Dual Career Pathway. Through this
alliance, college-bound students worldwide will begin receiving
more accurate information on the process required to acquire
scholarships to support their academic and golf development.
Through this strategic alliance, WGF designates AWF as an
advisory channel for the student athlete, inviting interested
athletes, families, clubs, academies and governments to contact AWF
for any issue relating to athlete education and career development.
AWF and WGF will work to educate golfers globally on golf
scholarship opportunities. The dual career pathway enables the
player to maximize their potential of succeeding in the
professional arena, while providing the athlete with a plan for
life after golf.
AWF President, Chris Vidal expressed, "As a former college
golfer, this touches me on a personal level. I fully understand the
difficulties young players face and identify this as a monumental
day for our Foundation. To collaborate with WGF places us at the
forefront of academic development of golfers worldwide. We look
forward to what will be a long term and mutually beneficial
WGF CEO, Steve Mona added, "We are pleased to assist AWF with
its efforts to assist young people in securing college golf
scholarships, and with its work in preparing young athletes for
careers after golf."
International and National sport federations and National
Olympic Committees are invited to connect with AWF to understand
the value added service that is provided to student athletes
seeking a dual career pathway.
